On Saturday Jan. 4 my... read more wife and I and our 2 year old daughter decided to visit westcliffe. I worked up at Sky Ranch Horn Creek a few summers ago and love the town and the sangres. This was a one night stay and it was short notice but we were able to get a room at the Westcliffe inn. We checked in around 5 and everything looked good but around 7:45 our daughter found a USED bar of soap under the bed (there’s about 6 inches of play before the bed frame starts) I called the front deck right away and let them know what had happened, the manager working was not very helpful. I was told she did everything in her power to fix a situation like this. She asked me two different times “what do you want me to do about it?” She offered to switch us rooms but at 8 pm with a two year old it would have been more of a hassle. The rest of the room was clean so that wasn’t and issue. At first it wasn’t about getting our money back but the way it was handled changed my mind. The next morning we went to check out and the young lady working the desk(who was very nice btw, she was just the middle man) informed us that the owners new about the situation and were going to call us. I told her that we were going to be in town for a couple hrs and that I would really like to speak with them in person as they were the only ones who could offer any kind of refund. Needless to say they didn’t get it touch with me on Saturday and I was told that they would get in touch with me Monday at the latest. KIT TYLER the owner called me Monday morning and I explained the whole situation and told him that we wanted our money back. The owners knew about the issue Saturday night and they didn’t have the decency to make a 5 min phone call until almost TWO days later. Speaking with KIT TYLER was the most unprofessional conversation I’ve had with a business owner, he told me as a business owner that they PRIORITIZE certain things and they were out of town which I why they didn’t call sooner. He also said if it were him he wouldn’t let his little girl crawl around a public place. REALLY? A paid for hotel room is not a public place. KIT TYLER never offered me a refund and he literally ended the conversation by saying F&$! YOU and hung up. It’s a shame because we love westcliffe and the mountains there.

June 8, 2021I have stayed at this hotel once a few years ago and felt it could have been cleaner, not to mention staff was not friendly or helpful. Never planned... read more to go back, but needed to stay in the area for a wedding so we decided to give this hotel another try. Since booking the room, over the telephone, the wedding was moved to another venue in another city. I called to cancel our reservation 5 MONTHS IN ADVANCE and am being charged a 10% fee. REALLY?? AGAIN 5 months IN ADVANCE. According to the manager, Trina, this is their policy, which was sent to me in the confirmation AFTER booking the hotel over the phone and this was NEVER disclosed at the time of reservation. I explained this to the manager and that revealing this information at time of booking on the telephone would have been helpful. I also asked for the employee's name that made my reservation and Trina was extremely rude and disrespectful. I will be disputing the fee with my credit card company because they are at fault for NOT disclosing fees over the phone when booking. So if you should book hotel you might read policies online and avoid booking over the telephone due to incompetent and rude staff. f

Be prepared; however, as there is no A/C, no... read more Continental breakfast, no pool (the hot tub closes at 9 PM), no ice machine, no morning newspaper and the other amenities we spoiled travelers have become accustomed to.There are lots of rules; however, do this, don't do that, remember to, the offices closes at . . .
Convenient to Main Street Westcliffe, but overpriced for what you get in my opinion.

The little issues were by far out classed by the positives, therefore, a 5. ... read more The room we had was large, spacious, very clean, and would be easily navigated by a wheelchair. Furnishings were adequate, yet sparse and plug ins for electronics were missing. The bathroom really needs a vanity of some type. My wife had trouble balancing all her women's possibles on the back of the toilet, but she managed. Clean, comfortable, nice bed, plenty of pillows, all good.

I was waiting for the check in time and was discouraged from sitting in the lobby to work and was told that I could go into town for Wifi. It just seemed very expensive.

One story, no "big foot" from above.One nice surprise is that they have an... read more indoor hot tub and sauna . So bring your bathing suit. A few other "surprises" include no ice machine, office is open at 9:00, so no coffee no breakfast. The Shell station next door has coffee , but only after 6:30. If you depart early, you have to get extra coffee from the front desk the night before. Also, do not work from home there. The wi fi is about as fast as dial up. Also, if you like a firm mattress, you are out of luck.

The rooms were exceptionally clean and roomy, as we have stayed... read more in many hotels in southern Colorado. This is without question, the cleanest hotel we have every stayed at.
The staff is very nice and they were very educational on things to do in the area. The price is very reasonable and I love the fact that you can just park right outside your hotel room. That was a huge plus for my family.
Overall, the property is well laid out, quiet, and even has a hot tub/sauna; huge plus for a hotel in this area.
My family and I have booked our rooms already for when we visit in September. I would not hesitate to book a room with these folks!
